Christiane Amanpour He was born on January 12, 1958 in Middlesex. He was born to an English mother and an Iranian father. He grew up in Iran when his family settled in Tehran soon after his birth. She was sent to a girls’ boarding school in England to study at the age of 11. His family also fled Iran to London in 1979 because of the Iranian Islamic Revolution. This event changed the fate of Christiane Amanpour. When her sister refused to attend even though she was enrolled, Christiane went instead to the already paid journalism school in London. Soon after, Amanpour went to the United States to study journalism at the University of Rhode Island. She started working as an assistant in CNN International’s Foreign News Service. In 1991, she became the most influential face to convey the hottest developments of the Gulf War to the whole world.
