OWNER CHANGE IBAN AND SAYS “DON’T PAY THE RENTAL”
The new method that landlords have used recently to evict tenants is the “IBAN game.” With this method, the landlord transfers the property where the tenant resides. Then it changes the IBAN number to which the tenant has paid the rent. Then the landlord sues the tenant on the grounds that “the tenant does not pay the rent”. Speaking to CNN TÜRK about the subject, Attorney Gizem Gonce said:
This is a method that the landlord deliberately uses to evict the tenant, on the grounds that the tenant has not paid the rent. At this point, the tenant requests a new IBAN, but the intention of the landlord here is to evict the tenant on the grounds that the rent does not come to him and the rent is not paid.
WHAT SHOULD THE TENANT DO AGAINST THE “IBAN” GAME?
If you do not pay the rent by saying “I do not have an IBAN number”, this is not accepted as a reason. For this reason, what the tenants should do is to request the determination of the IBAN number by filing a case for determination of the place of deposit from the court.
