The first of the Victory Ultra Marathon, which is traditionally planned to be held every year by the Nef Foundation, started in Afyonkarahisar. The ceremony was held before the start of the stage, which will start from the Kocatepe Monument in the Büyükkaleci town of the center and will be completed at the Captain Agah Efendi Martyrs’ Cemetery after a 7.5-kilometer route. Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı, Mayor of Afyonkarahisar Mehmet Zeybek, Nef Deputy General Manager for Marketing Burcu Yılmaz, Nef Executive Board Member Hakan Oflazer and city protocol attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nef Deputy General Manager of Marketing Burcu Yılmaz stated that it is a great honor to be in the land where the rebirth of a nation and the victorious struggle began. After the speech, Nef Foundation officials gave plaques to Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı and Mayor Mehmet Zeybek. After the ceremony, the start of the Afyonkarahisar stage of the Zafer Ultra Marathon was given together with the public run. The race was completed after 7.5 kilometers at Captain Agah Efendi Martyrdom. Emir Salih Karakuzu finished first with a time of 11 minutes 37 seconds and 21 milliseconds. Fatih Olak was second with 11 minutes 39 seconds and 15 milliseconds, and Musa Achilov was third with 11 minutes 39 seconds and 46 milliseconds.
BREAD, GRAPE HOSPITAL AND LENTILS SOUP
On the other hand, before the marathon, bread, grape compote and lentil soup, which were eaten in the Great Offensive, were also served to both protocol members and contestants in order to remember the past on the road that the ancestors set out with great impossibilities 100 years ago.
THEY WILL ACCOMMODATE IN TENTS
The 295-kilometer Zafer Ultra Marathon, which will continue on the route of Kütahya- Dumlupınar, Manisa- Salihli and Turgutlu, and İzmir- İnciraltı, will be completed on September 4 at İzmir Cumhuriyet Square. During the Ultra Marathon, runners will stay on the route in tents representing the national struggle determination and impossibilities of 100 years ago, on the way of Sancaktar Mehmet, Zehra Ana carrying bullets to the front, Halime Sergeant and Shepherd İsmail. Nef Chairman of the Board Erden Timur will attend the closing of the marathon, which will end in Izmir, with the famous historian İlber Ortaylı, and will present the medals to the athletes.
SUPPORT TO THE CHILDREN OF MARTYRS AND VETERANS WITH VIRTUAL RUN
The Victory Virtual Run was also planned as part of the marathon. It was stated that the donations collected from the virtual run, where everyone can support from all over the world and Turkey by registering, running or walking in their city, will be donated to support the education of the children of martyrs and veterans.
