The death toll in the flood disaster in Greece increased to 12

The number of people who lost their lives in the flood disaster that Greece has been facing since September 5 has increased to 12.

According to the statement made by the Greek Fire Brigade, the body of a 58-year-old man, who had been reported missing since Wednesday in Kardiça, was found.

The dead body of the missing person in Pilio was found in Euboea. Thus, the number of deaths in the flood disaster increased to 12. Many settlements were evacuated as a precaution due to the rise of water in the Pinio River.

MİÇOTAKIS WILL MAKE A STATEMENT

Many settlements in Kardicha, Trikala and Larisa in the Thessaly Region are still under water. Rescue efforts for those stranded by the flood continue by air, land and coast guard boats. According to the statement made by the Prime Ministry, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will inspect the region in the evening. Mitsotakis is expected to make a statement regarding aid for flood victims.
