Odisha reports 2,470 new COVID-19 cases, 17 fresh fatalities

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally rose to 2,62,011 on Thu. as 2,470 extra citizens tested positive(+ve) for the infection, awhile 17 new fatalities urged the state’s COVID-19 number of deaths to 1,089, a health officer said.
Up to 1,462 new instances have been recorded in isolation centers, awhile 1,008 citizens tested positive(+ve) for the infection throughout contact tracing, he stated.
Khurda dist., under that Bhubaneswar falls, lodged the largest no. of new instances in 368, succeeded by Cuttack (186) & Angul (170), the officer said.
4 new fatalities have been recorded in Khurda, 3 every in Cuttack & Sundergarh, 2 in Ganjam, & 1 every in Balasore, Boudh, Jajpur, Kalahandi & Nayagarh, he stated.
Ganjam has till now recorded the largest no. of COVID-19 fatalities in 225, succeeded by Khurda (189) & Cuttack (94), the officer said.
Odisha as of now has 25,106 active COVID-19 instances, awhile 2,35,763 citizens have recovered from that disease till now, he stated.
Fifty-three COVID-19 sufferers have ceded to different ailments till now, the officer said.
The state has till now tested over 39.21 lakh samples for COVID-19, involving 42,148 on Wed., he added further.
