Muqtada al-Sadr announces his withdrawal from politics

The leader of the Sadr Movement in Iraq, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced on Twitter that he was permanently withdrawing from politics.

According to the news in Hürriyet, Sadr said in his statement, “I have decided not to interfere in political affairs. I am declaring my retirement for sure,” and criticized the political leaders for not listening to their calls for reform.
