The Ministry of Labor had taken the first step regarding the minimum wage and launched a public opinion poll on expectations.
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission is expected to meet in the first week of December. It remains to be seen what the rate of increase in the new wage will be.

Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, made important statements to Star News Editor-in-Chief Nazlı Çelik about the minimum wage.
Bilgin, “Is there a 50 percent increase in the minimum wage, which is still 5 thousand 500 liras?” He replied, “We are looking for a fee that businesses can pay”.

HOW IS THE MINIMUM WAGE DETERMINED?
The minimum wage is still at the level of 5 thousand 500 TL net. The new wage, which will be effective as of January 1, 2023, will be clarified as a result of the work of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which consists of 15 people, 5 representatives from the employee, employer and government, determines the minimum wage as required by law. The Commission meets four times as part of the work to determine the new minimum wage.
The commission, chaired by one of the members determined by the Ministry, convenes with the participation of at least 10 members and decides by majority vote. In case of equality of votes, it is accepted that the party with the president wins the majority.
