In Şanlıurfa, the minibus driven by Mehmet Ali Kasap crashed into the roadside retaining wall in the Aydınlı District of the Suruç-Akçakale highway.

In the accident, Fethiye Kasap (35), Bahar Akkuş (20) and Ayşe Özçakır (23) in the vehicle lost their lives and 17 people were injured.

It was learned that the agricultural workers in the minibus went to a field to hoe.

While the bodies of those who lost their lives in the accident were taken to the morgue of Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institute, the injured were referred to various hospitals in the city by medical teams.

It was learned that 3 more of the injured had life-threatening conditions.

Harran District Governor İbrahim Gültekin examined the scene and received information about the accident.

Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak made the following statement regarding the accident on the X social media platform:

“As a result of a traffic accident in Akçakale district of a minibus carrying agricultural workers, 3 of our citizens lost their lives and 17 of our citizens were injured. The treatment of our injured people continues in hospitals. I wish God’s mercy on our citizens who died in this tragic accident, and I wish a speedy recovery to our injured.”
