Engin Ardıç, who wrote articles in many magazines and newspapers in Turkey, had been receiving treatment for his illness for 6 months.
It was announced that Ardıç, who was operated on in a private hospital in Istanbul Bağcılar, passed away this morning.
Engin Ardıç, who started journalism in 1970, worked in many institutions such as BBC Turkish, Dünya, Star and Akşam newspapers.
The news of the death of 71-year-old Ardıç was announced by the Sabah newspaper, where he had been working in recent years.
