THEY MADE THE SECOND MURDER IN THE CAR
It was determined that the second link of the murder chain was committed in 2018, about 1 year after this incident. It turned out that Sevgi Demirci, who was married to Mücahit Polat, had a romantic relationship and fled to Istanbul together, but then Erdogan Polat, with whom she had a falling out, was also killed by the decision of the family council. It was determined that the couple broke up because of Erdoğan Polat’s mistreatment of Sevgi Demirci, and Sevgi Demirci often complained about this situation by telling Ünal Y. Thereupon, it was learned that Ünal Y. told his friend Hasan K. about the situation and asked him to talk to him. During the conversation he had with Erdogan Polat, whom Hasan K. had invited, in the car, it was determined that Ünal Y., who was sitting at the wheel, suddenly pulled out his gun and committed the murder. It was determined that the suspect Ünal Y. then went to his relatives’ house in a car with a body in the back seat, and then decided to bury the body with the decision of the family council and buried it in Silivri.

In the police investigation, it was determined that there was a love affair between Ünal Y. and Sevgi Demirci after this incident. The last links of the chain of murders took place in a farmhouse in Silivri, Değirmendere. It was learned that due to the pandemic ban, Sevgi Demirci, her son Eren Polat and her daughter Hümeysa Polat, Ünal Y. and Ömer Y. decided to stay in the farmhouse and went to Silivri together. After spending the weekend at the farm, the murders were determined to have been committed on January 25, 2021. It was revealed that Ünal Y., who took Sevgi Demirci and her daughter Hümeysa Polat to another place on the day of the incident, later returned and killed Eren Polat by hitting him on the head with a pick and hammer.

It was learned that after this chain of murders, family members continued their lives as if nothing had happened, and Zeynep K., daughter of Sevgi Demirci, filed a missing persons complaint with the police two months after the last murders. The suspects, whose procedures were completed by the police, were removed from the Public Security Branch Directorate and transferred to the Silivri Courthouse.
