D-100 Highway Bostancı location, in the direction of Ankara, at around 00.30, the car with the plate number 34 NB 1182 used by Atilla Mert Çukacı, was moving with scissors, and after the driver lost control of the steering wheel, he plunged into the road maintenance and repair team of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
4 PEOPLE LOSE LIVES
The car, which hit the workers doing maintenance and repair on the road, overcame the pontoons and barriers placed to close the road, turned the environment into a war zone.
Upon the notification, many health, fire and police teams were sent to the scene. In the control carried out by the medical teams, it was determined that Sinan Demirok, Mehmet Alptekin, Hamdi Alptekin and Barış Ten, who were road maintenance and repair workers working under the İBB, died at the scene.
RELATIVES OF WORKERS HAVE A NERVE CRISIS
One injured worker was taken to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of the 4 workers who lost their lives were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the crime scene investigation teams made an examination at the scene.
Relatives of the workers who came to the scene after receiving the news of the accident had a nervous breakdown. Health and police teams calmed the relatives of the workers with difficulty.
“Scissors ATA ATTACK CONTINUES”
An eyewitness using the highway at the time of the accident, “The scissors were riding horseback here. He entered among the workers, he destroyed the workers. The workers working on the road were 4 people, earning their bread. It’s all broken” he said.
It was seen that Atilla Mert Çukacı, the driver of the car that caused the accident, did not leave the woman who was sitting on the side of the road after the accident and was seen in shock. Driver Atilla Mert Çukacı was detained and taken to the police station.
It was determined that the driver was intoxicated. The woman who was in the car with the driver at the time of the accident was also taken to the police station to be questioned.
Due to the accident, the D-100 Highway in the direction of Ankara was closed to traffic. After the bodies were removed and the road was cleaned, the traffic flow returned to normal. The investigation into the accident continues.
