“REGULATIONS MUST BE MADE ON A GLOBAL SCALE”
Asked about the possibility of humanity being destroyed by artificial intelligence, Clifford replied, “I don’t think it’s zero.” gave the answer.
Referring to the potential of artificial intelligence to develop dangerous cyber and biological weapons that can lead to many deaths, Clifford continued his words as follows:
“Going back to things like bioweapons or cyber (attacks) there can be really dangerous threats to humans, and those threats could kill a lot of people, not all of humanity, from where we expect the models to be in two years. I think what we need to focus on right now is to focus on these models is how to make sure we know how to control it because we don’t know that right now.”
Matt Clifford, on the other hand, underlined that artificial intelligence needs to be regulated not only by national governments but also on a global scale.
Experts also warn that in the medium term, artificial intelligence could be used to design chemical and biological weapons and launch massive attacks over the internet.
OBJECTION FROM CLIFFORD TO THE TITLE OF THE TIMES NEWSPAPER
Clifford, Rishi Sunak’s technology consultant, objected to the headline “Two years left to save the world” in the news of the Times newspaper, which included his statements on artificial intelligence on its home page.
In his post, Clifford stated that this title does not reflect his own views, and emphasized that the short and long-term risks of artificial intelligence are real, that it is urgent to think about reducing these risks, but there are many different views and many nuances here.
