Former ATO Deputy Chairman, shot by his bodyguard, was bid farewell to his last journey

Former ATO Deputy Chairman Mehmet Aypek was shot and killed by his bodyguard, Gani Güngör, at the entrance of the plaza where his office is located in Çankaya on April 25.

The suspect, who was caught and detained by the police teams, was arrested by the court he was taken out after the police operations. The body of Mehmet Aypek was brought to Akörençarşak District of his hometown Gölbaşı after the autopsy at Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute.

Aypek was buried in the village cemetery after the funeral prayer at the Akörençarşak Mosque at noon. Aypek’s family and relatives as well as many business people attended the funeral.
