Wanted with a red notice, Muhammed Yakut was caught in the city of Santander in northern Spain.
Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared the extradition request for Yakut and sent it to the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry will be asked to return Yakut from the relevant country.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation about Yakut, who came to the fore with his publications during the election process, on the charges of “looting together by more than one person” and “unlawful seizure and dissemination of personal data” due to his social media posts.
A red notice was issued for Muhammed Yakut on May 25.
