EU response to Belarus: accomplice in a causeless war

“Any attempt to escalate the situation further will be met with a strong and coordinated response,” the statement said.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Hrenin signed documents on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus today.

Hrenin emphasized that this was a response to the “unfriendly” and “aggressive” politics of Western countries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in March that they would place tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. Putin stated that the “Alexander” high-precision missile systems that they had previously delivered to Belarus would be equipped with the aforementioned weapon.
