Firefighters issued a warning today and shared security camera footage showing the explosion of the lithium battery of the electric bicycle at the entrance of an apartment house on May 20. Authorities noted that more than normal electric scooters and electric bikes with lithium batteries had exploded recently, and warned that these vehicles should not be kept indoors or in enclosed spaces.
Authorities warned that lithium batteries quickly release white and gray smoke into the air, which is highly flammable and poisonous. Stating that it is very difficult to avoid an electric bicycle that explodes at once, firefighters emphasized that these vehicles turn into a fireball within seconds. It was stated that 52 electric bicycles and 12 electric scooters exploded in London, the capital of England, this year, causing a fire.
