Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Mehmet Şimşek congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was re-elected as President according to the unofficial results of the second round of the 28 May elections, with his social media account.
Şimşek used the following expressions in his Twitter message:

WHAT HAPPENED?
Şimşek had first appeared in the news of Reuters as the person the AKP was planning to appoint to the head of the economy management.
Later, Şimşek met with President Erdoğan at the AKP Headquarters and declared that he did not intend to return to politics after this meeting.
