The organizers of Mad Cool Sunset 2022 have confirmed this Monday the definitive cancellation of the festival scheduled for next September 10 at the Ifema Madrid Fairgrounds in Valdebebas. This measure comes after the group Rage Against The Machine confirmed on August 11 the cancellation of its European tour for medical reasons and canceled the scheduled performance at this event.
The organization has explained that, “despite the efforts made in this short period of time”, it has not been possible “to find a substitute band at the level of Californians” and cancels the festival. “We understand that the cancellation of the main headliner of Mad Cool Sunset has been a disappointment and a modification in the plans of many of the attendees, since the purchase of tickets had, in many cases, the objective of being part of the return of RATM to the stages of our country”, he specified in a statement.

In any case, the organizers of the festival have indicated that they are already working and in continuous contact with the Californian band “in order to have them back as soon as possible and enjoy their live show on one of our stages”. “After assessing all the options and, with the clear and strong objective of being as honest and transparent as possible both with the public and with the rest of the bands that were going to be part of this new Mad Cool Sunset, this hard decision has been taken. decision”, they lamented from the organization.
Due to this cancellation, the organization offers the possibility of exchanging the tickets purchased for Mad Cool Sunset for a three-day pass for the Andalucia Big Festival, which takes place in Malaga on September 8, 9 and 10. Said request must be made from Monday, August 29 to Tuesday, September 6. As of this date, all those who have not requested this exchange will receive a refund for their Mad Cool Sunset ticket without having to do anything, it will be all automatically.
