Within the scope of the work carried out by the teams of the Istanbul Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate and the Sabiha Gökçen Customs Directorate teams, a foreign passenger was followed.
The belongings of the passenger who came with the plane on the Tehran-Istanbul flight were subjected to x-ray scanning and checked just before they were sent to the passenger lounge.
Upon seeing the suspicious density in the luggage, the teams took action and closely followed the passenger. Following the movements of the suspect, the teams detected the connection of the passenger with 3 more people.
The suspicious passenger, who came to the passenger lounge after completing the passport procedures, took his luggage from the tape and headed towards the exit, unaware that he was being followed.
At this stage, the teams intervened and the passengers were directed to the luggage control.
The suspects’ belongings were again x-rayed in the passenger lounge and then subjected to a physical search.
As a result of the search, it was seen that there were real human hair in 10 bags belonging to 4 suspects. As a result of the operation, 450 strands of human hair with a total weight of 68 kilograms were seized, and it was determined that the hair was worth approximately 1 million 600 thousand liras.
While real human hair seized in the operation was seized, an investigation was launched by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office about the suspects related to the incident.
