The incident took place in the tent city on the Sugar Factory campus, which was established for earthquake victims at noon. Abdulvahap Hussein, a Syrian national, lost his balance while playing around and fell into the irrigation canal. Police, firefighters and medical teams were sent to the scene with the notification of the people around. Firefighters took Abdulvahap out and handed him over to the paramedics. Hüseyin, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved despite the intervention of doctors. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
